What is a Projector in Human Design
Oct 22, 2024It's not uncommon to find a Projector that shows up as a teacher, leader, or who seems to be guiding others. That's because they have a unique skill of being able to see through things, and that includes people. They deeply see people, maybe more deeply than people even see themselves. Because this ability to see deeply, Projectors are able to give insight and perspective that may not otherwise be available. There's one important secret about this insight, and we are going to get into it on today's blog!
(If you are curious if you or your kids are a Projector, you can find their free Human Design Chart HERE)
Breaking down the Projector Human Design type.
What you'll find here:
1. What to know about your design type of Projector
2. The five different types of Projectors, and how to use your unique type of Projector to make decisions.
3. How to use what you know about Projectors for yourself, and for your kids.
So you're a Projector...
Projectors as a design type don't have quite as much energy as Generators and Mani Gens, but they frequently have energy that they need to offload. Their energy is different because it ebbs and flows. The peaks and valleys come from being able to tap into the energy of those around them. Much of the world (70%) are Generators (including Manifesting Generators). All of these Generators floating around and you as a Projector are bound to run into that energy on the regular. As you tap into that energy, you'll need to honor the rest cycle after you expend the energy. If not, you'll find yourself operating outside of your design and burn out.
You likely find that you do better in small groups or in one/one situations. That's because you're even more susceptible to taking in other people's energy, all that energy can get muddy and overwhelming. You likely find the interactions where there are too many people around are not nearly as fulfilling.
Wait to be invited...
Projectors thrive on being invited. It's literally part of their design. You're designed to be invited to contribute, invited to give your incredible insight, invited to join in on friendships, opportunities, you name it.
When you don't wait to be invited, you may find yourself leaning in, feeling awkward or unnatural. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. What's even more wild is that the more you try to "invite yourself" or get into a conversation/situation where you weren't invited you may actually find that you're repelling those around you. When this happens you'll know because you feel the feeling of bitterness.
An invitation isn't always blatant or obvious, but you'll know when you feel it. It might feel like an open door, vs that feeling when somewhere no longer wants to be your friend. Trust that feeling.
There are Five types of Projectors
Emotional Projector - If you're an emotional Projector, you need to accept or deny an invitation, but first you'll need to ride an emotional wave to get to a neutral point. Once you have gotten to that neutral point you'll be in the best position to accept the invitations that are right for you.
Splenic Projector - If you're a splenic Projector you have a unique instinct. When an opportunity for an invitation presents itself, get still. Your instincts will kick in and you'll know if that invitation is right for you or not.
Ego Projector - If you're an ego Projector, the way you'll know if an invitation is right for you is to determine if you're willing to see the invitation through or not.
Self-Projected Projector - If you're a self-projected Projector, the way you know if an invitation is for you is to talk it through. Make sure you're talking it through with someone you trust to see if the invitation is right for you or not. The act of talking it through will build your confidence for those invitations that are right for you.
Mental Projector - For the mental Projectors, when you get an invitation, you need to tune into your environment to see if that's the right invitation for you.
Being a Projector Woman
- Understanding your worth is the first step to having others do the same.
- Make sure to surround yourself with people who appreciate you and uplift you naturally.
- Because you see deeply into people, having folks around you that don't support you or have good intentions can be especially draining.
- When you need rest, make time for it! The more you prioritize rest, the better you'll be.
- Don't be afraid to tell your partner what it means to you to be recognized.
The Projector parent
- Make sure to prioritize your self care and rest. It is the single biggest thing you can do for yourself and your kids.
- You may feel pressure. Pressure to do more, pressure to keep up. Remember, your energy will come and go and can be highly dependent on who you are around. Give yourself grace (and a nap when you need it!)
- Don't be afraid to prioritize one/one time with your spouse or your kids. Big group settings can be especially draining. This is your permission slip to do what's best for YOU.
Projector kids
- Your projector kids are going to need time each day to talk. They have lots of wisdom about their day (like how to do things in a better way). Inviting them to chat and giving them your full attention will help them stay aligned to their design.
- Your projector kids will have energy that looks like peaks and valleys.
- They may be wise beyond their years due to their ability to see between the lines of the adults around them.
- They CRAVE recognition and one/one time. The more you can recognize them, and invite them to spend time one/one with you, the more these kids will thrive.
